Paul Sawyier (1865 – 1917) Ohio born Paul Sawyier attended Second Street School and the Dudley Institute of Frankfort before studying at the Cincinnati Art Academy. He studied with accomplished artist Frank Duveneck. Sawyier captured many urban and rural scenes of Frankfort and Franklin County. He was locally famous for his impressionistic water colors and oil portraits.
