
John Brown (1757 – 1837)
John Brown (1757 – 1837) Virginian John Brown was instrumental in bringing statehood to Kentucky in 1792 and became one of the state’s first senators. He built the historic family home “Liberty Hall” on Wilkinson Street in 1796. At his death he was the last surviving member of the Continental Congress.
